Polish Saturday School in Hartford is the oldest Polish language school in the state of Connecticut, operating since 1937. The school offers classes for children and youth of Polish descent, enabling them to learn the Polish language, history, culture, and traditions of Poland.
History
The school was founded on October 6, 1937, with the support of United Polish Societies from Hartford and priests from the St. Cyril and Methodius Parish. Initially run by the Felician Sisters, the school quickly became an important educational center for the Polish diaspora community.
Curriculum
Classes are held on Saturdays from September to May. The program includes learning the Polish language, literature, history, and geography of Poland. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Polish-American events such as the Constitution Day Anniversary or the Pulaski Parade.
