About Our School
The Polish Community School named Irena Sendlerowa in Mahopac was established to meet the needs of the local Polish American community, who wanted their children to learn Polish, get acquainted with the culture, and maintain ties with their homeland. The school began its operations in the 2004/2005 school year. In February 2020, the students named the institution after Irena Sendlerowa.
History and Location
The school has operated in various locations; currently, classes take place at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. In September 2010, the school was officially registered as a legal entity in the state of New York.
Educational Offerings
Children learn Polish language, history, geography, literature, and national traditions. The main goal of the school is to provide high-quality education and raise children with a love for their homeland.
