Opis wydarzenia
The Polish Museum of America had the pleasure of hosting Mary Ann Stickler-Krupa and her husband during a recent visit to the Museum. Mary Ann’s father was comic artist Julian S. Krupa, creator of the comic strips for the comic book “Przygody Ryszarda” (1936), which she generously donated to the PMA collection in 2014. During her visit, she had the opportunity to revisit the strips and see them once again as part of the Museum’s collection. We sincerely thank Mary Ann for her visit and for her continued connection to her father’s artistic legacy preserved at the PMA. If you haven’t already, we warmly invite everyone to watch the documentary episode dedicated to Julian S. Krupa, created by the YouTube channel “Otwarte Komiksy”: AMAZING STORY, CZYLI ŻYCIE JULIANA S. KRUPY The PMA was happy to collaborate with the channel and Mr. Tomasz Kołodziejczak on the episode by sharing materials from the Museum’s collection and through an interview with PMA Director Małgorzata Kot about the original comic strips. We encourage everyone to support the channel and learn more about the history of one of the earliest Polish comic books and the artist behind it.
