Medicus Polish-American Medical Society is one of the oldest and largest Polish-American medical organizations in the USA. It was founded in the 1950s in New York as a continuation of the original association established in Poznań, Poland, between World War I and World War II.
History
The first president of Medicus in the USA was Dr. John J. Danek, who registered the association as a non-profit organization in New York State in January 1966. The organization was instrumental in promoting the exchange of students, educators, and physicians between Poland and the United States.
Membership and Activities
Medicus has over 250 members represented in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. The association offers extensive opportunities for professional and social networking among its members and other professional organizations.
Mission
The mission of Medicus is to support and promote professionals of Polish descent in the USA and to participate in charitable activities for the Polish community in the United States and Poland.
