About the Parish
St. Frances de Chantal R.C. Church in Brooklyn, NY, was established in 1892. The first Mass was held in Miss Gorman's home at the intersection of 56th St. and 13th Ave. The church was built thanks to the commitment of 28 families who pledged financial support for its construction. In 1908, the church was destroyed by fire, but construction of a new one quickly began, which was completed in 1910.
