Edison, NJ - dental assistant.

Experience in dentistry is required. Hourly rate to be determined based on experience and interview. We are looking for a full-time dental assistant for our FFS/PPO practice. We focus on quality, not quantity. This is not a Medicaid facility, but we expect someone who is efficient and can work as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the office by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials for procedures are available.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including taking X-rays.
• Accurately manage patient documentation using Dentrix.
• Help in the office when someone steps away briefly.
• Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize work efficiency.
• Restock materials in the operatories as needed and assist in ordering missing supplies.

Requirements:

• Documented experience as a dental assistant or in a similar dental environment, with knowledge of dental procedures.
• Familiarity with Dentrix.
• Ability to safely operate X-ray equipment in accordance with radiological safety standards; certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Competence in chairside assisting.
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist during interactions with patients and team members.
• Ability to work at a moderate pace while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
